“They sound the same/similar to me. I am not sure I can hear any difference ….”
Sometimes it can be hard to tell the difference when listening to demonstrations online.
My suggestion is first make sure to set the video to the highest quality allowed (like 1080 HD) and try to see if you can listen on a good pair of headphones or speakers. This will give you more definition and sound “information”.
At our end, we upgrade our recording equipment once in a while whenever it makes sense. And right now, we are recording our audio with very high quality equipment – a matched pair of Neumann KM184 microphones. So if an uncompressed audio file is available on our website, download and listen to that file should get the best sound.
Sometimes the differences we hear can be subtle, whereas the differences we feel when playing is much more immediate. The deeper resonance, sense of projection, the stability and ease of the altissimo range and how the difference in back pressure affects your ease of articulation are all aspects that you will only experience once you actually play test it.
