Here is a great early 5 digit Mark VI
with approximatly 90% of its original lacquer remaining.
The
thumb hook
has been resoldered and the actual hook is not original to this horn
but is a perfect match. This was done so well that its almost
impossible to see. There is evidence of previous dent work (lacquer
loss) right
above the post for the G key (top of the horn) and it has had a
small
dent at the bell flare removed with some lacquer loss. Please
see
pictures below. Those are the only small cosmetic blemishes - the horn
is just a real beauty! It has a perfect bottom bow and the
neck is in perfect condition.
It has a recent complete rebuild from
KB
Saxophone Services with Pisoni pads and metal resonators installed and
is in mechanical perfect condition.
It is a trememdous player!! It has a
perfectly balanced sound with
just
a touch of resistance that you can really push against. It
has
a strong core to the sound that really projects through the
room. Beautiful for ballads and really powerful when you want to wail.
Great early Mark VI!
